Mason had his 2 week appt and he was 8 pounds 3 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long! He's a growing boy!
He got his first shot and he did really well, he only cried a little and slept the whole way home.

He's here!

Sweet baby Mason is here! Mason was born on August 17. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.
We went in to be induced the night of 8/16 at 10pm. Since I wasn't dilating we started with medication to help. This caused really strong contractions! I ended up getting my epidural at 2:30am followed by an ambien to help me sleep since we were going to have a long day the next day. A couple of hours later the nurse came in and made me lay on my side. Mason's heart rate dropped so they wanted to see if that would help, and it did. Then it happened again. I was in a deep sleep and I woke up to a group of nurses putting oxygen on me and they gave me a shot to stop the contractions.
That morning Dr.Ryder came by and broke my water and started the pitocin drip, which was going to make my contractions much stronger and more frequent. Mason did not like that! His heart rate dropped again and the nurse said he had 1 more chance. It happened again so she came right back in and gave Alex his scrubs and prepped me for the c section. 15 minutes later we were in the operating room and Mason was here at 1:41pm! He's perfect. We couldn't stop staring at him!
